Well, not technically but I’ve just sown my first seeds of the new season. Leek and onion were the seeds in question. The latter more as cover for the large quantity of onion sets that I have waiting to go in later in the year.
This is the first time that I have tried to grow non spring/salad onions from seed so I await their progress with enthusiasm.
It was good to be back in greenhouse as it usually marks the proper start of the season. Although I have been busy clearing things and hedge trimming the growing year doesn’t really start until the first seeds are in the pot. It didn’t matter that it was raining outside (although the wet ground isn’t good), it felt like the new beginning.
